Yet Con

Hello, I'm back! The H&M top sold really well, and I am delirious! Coming up next is a Elie Saab design and girls who love beautiful cocktail dresses will adore it, I guarantee!

My friends like Beloved, Cassie, Grace, Celine and Dawn showed their support in one way or another and I ask myself what I've done to ever deserve friends like them. <3 I am a really difficult person to get along with. I am very critical, I have severe mood swings and I probably would hate myself if I had to make friends with me. Haha but when I can get along with someone, I actually get along dandy with someone, and they actually love me, awesome!

Today I was at the new hip shopping mall Nex, and because the walkway was so small, this girl just came up against me and bumped me to the corner, cutting ahead of me and walked on without a "sorry" from her. Instinctively, I said "So fat!" just so she would hear me. And she instinctively turned to her boyfriend (without turning back to look at me) and said "The girl behind me called me so fat!" Well the bf just continued walking and didn't even bother about her (because he believes what I said is true anyway, I guess!) And... my acid tongue let go of a "if you're not fat, I don't know what is", and confidently sashayed past her. (I dared do that because I really am at least a few sizes smaller than her.)

OMG, I totally stunned myself! How could I say that!! I am so mean. I am really catty! Hahhahaa. Actually half of me feared she would whip out a parang and slash my head into half! If she did, I sure deserved it.. Sigh, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. :P That poor girl must have starved herself tonight.

Ok let's not go on about this lest you become the moral police and judge me based on a single incident.

The girlfriends got together to celebrate Wenjia's birthday and we had dinner at Yet Con, it serves up delectable Hainanese spread that leaves you wanting more. Yet Con brought us all back to the past, the furniture, the mosaic-tiled floor, the boss settling the accounts with an abacus(!) and it's history goes all the way back to when Japanese soldiers occupied our island! Ok, Yet Con is history-rich and seriously, we should all visit this traditional place sometime soon before it's being refurbished.

So the food is solid! I thought I'd never like chicken that comes without the skin, and it's unlike all the Hainanese chicken rice I've had. The chicken doesn't come drenched in sauce, and it looks dry, but do not be deceived! You've got to try their other best seller, their Hainanee Pork Chops. We savoured every bit of it! I also love the chap chye. Skip their steamboat though, the soup base is too salty! I went down late, and everyone started eating already so I don't have pictures to show, but do an internet search on Yet Con and others would have blogged and posted some really nice pictures of it. :) I want to go down tomorrow!

We also did a quick dessert at Ah Chew while oohing and ahhing at Ruth's masterpiece. I love how creative this girl can get!
